The fundraiser is to support Wake Up Jeffco specifically for their legal expenses. The funds will be used only against those costs. Their mission is to stop the proposed hyperscale data center in Festus, MO.

Although it is the lawsuit that is driving this fundraiser the t-shirts are meant to inspire all of Festus in how we have united over this issue and can in the future. Image wearing these to the grocery store and seeing 3 others. You immediately know you have something in common with them. Or you are at a community event, such as a street fair. A disturbance breaks out but you know who else to turn to for protection. Not to advocate we interact in the disturbance, we are not a police force. But other like minded people to draw near to. Isn't that what we believe Festus is and what we are trying to protect - community!
Wake Up Jeffco, LLC is a grassroots civic organization based in Jefferson County, MO. Our mission is simple and firm: we oppose the development of industrial facilities near residential and rural areas in our county. We will not accept projects that place an enormous burden on our water supply, threaten private wells, or risk the long-term sustainability of our community’s natural resources. Many of us chose to live here because we value the peace, natural beauty, and the semirural character of our county. We moved here to enjoy clean air, quiet surroundings, open land, and thriving wildlife—not to watch our community become an industrial corridor. To address these concerns, Wake Up Jeffco, LLC is raising funds to cover the costs of legal representation, Sunshine Law requests, outreach, and administrative expenses. These resources will enable us to challenge the hyperscale data center project in court. Every dollar raised with this fund raiser will go directly toward supporting our legal endeavors.
